That's My Town | Question Words

This activity features 10 slides showing people from different countries along with details about their hometowns. Students practise using question words to ask and answer questions about places, helping A1 learners improve both speaking and comprehension skills.

How to Use

1. Display a slide with a person and information about their hometown.
2. Ask students to formulate questions using question words (e.g., What, Where, When, How) based on the details provided.
   Example: “What is the national dish?” or “Where does he live?”
3. Students take turns answering and asking questions in pairs or small groups.
4. Rotate through all 10 slides to provide multiple speaking opportunities.
5. Optionally, students can create questions about their own hometowns and present them to the class.
