A1 A2 B1 B2 Summer Past Simple Present Perfect

Passing Summer | Bingo Game is a fun and interactive activity for A1–B2 learners to talk about their summer experiences. Using a bingo format, students practise forming sentences in the present perfect and past simple tenses while sharing what they have done over the summer.

How to Use

  1. Distribute the bingo cards to students, each containing different summer activities.
  2. Explain the rules: students move around the class, asking classmates if they have done any of the activities listed.
  3. Students respond using the present perfect or past simple, e.g.,
    • Yes, I have visited the beach.
    • No, I didn’t go camping.
  4. Encourage full sentences and follow-up questions to practise speaking fluency.
  5. The first student to complete a row or full card calls “Bingo!” and can share more details about the activities they did.
  6. Use the game as a review of grammar and vocabulary, and to spark conversation about students' summer experiences.
