On a $100 Budget is a fun, interactive warm-up activity for A1–B2 learners that combines decision-making, vocabulary, and budgeting skills. Students explore different topics such as weekend plans, staycations, summer activities, self-care, and vacations, while practising English in a meaningful, real-life context.

How to Use

1. Present the activity to students with the list of items or activities for each topic.
2. Explain the budget constraint: they have $100 to spend on the chosen items.
3. Students choose the activities or things they need while making sure the total does not exceed $100.
4. Encourage discussion by asking:
   • Why did you choose this item?
   • How would you prioritize your spending?
5. Use individually, in pairs, or small groups to promote negotiation and conversation skills.
6. Optionally, compare choices as a class to discuss preferences and vocabulary related to daily routines, travel, and leisure.
