Autumn Thrifting | Warm-Up

Autumn Thrifting | Warm-Up is a cozy and engaging activity for A1–B2 learners. Students explore autumn-themed thrift shop stalls and practise speaking by choosing items that would make their days or evenings more comfortable, sparking conversation and vocabulary related to autumn and shopping.

How to Use

1. Display the thrift shop stalls to the students, showing various cozy items for autumn.
2. Ask students to choose the things they would like to thrift to make their days cozier.
3. Encourage students to explain their choices using phrases like:
   • I would choose this because…
   • This would make my evening cozier because…
4. Promote discussion by having students compare their choices with a partner, small group, or the whole class.
5. Use this activity as a warm-up to autumn-themed lessons, practising speaking, vocabulary, and expressing personal preferences.
